Application Material Corrections

Families often inquire how to make updates and corrections to their online applications after they have already been submitted.  We have outlined below the steps necessary for correcting your data.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

You should update your FAFSA once you have completed your taxes utilizing the IRS Data Retrieval process.

If you need to make a correction to your FAFSA, go to the FAFSA website at www.fafsa.ed.gov, click Make a Correction. You must enter your FSA ID to correct your FAFSA.

Once your correction is submitted and you receive a confirmation number, the correction will be processed in 3-5 days.

College Scholarship (CSS) Profile

Once you have submitted your Profile application, you cannot change any of the data provided online.

Unlike the FAFSA, it is not necessary for prospective students to update tax information as it will be provided via the IDOC submission process.

If you need to change any other information, however,  print a copy of your online Profile Acknowledgment that includes all the information provided on your Profile application and use the printed, paper version to make corrections. Then fax or email scanned copies directly to our office.  A brief summary of the corrections you have made at the top would be very helpful.  Be sure to include the student name and contact information.

IDOC Deadline

The deadline for submitting your tax information via IDOC is March 5. We understand that this may be earlier than you are used to completing your federal taxes documents, but the deadline has been established to ensure you will be notified of your aid package at the same time, or shortly after, you receive your admission decision.

Documents submitted after March 21 will be reviewed as soon as possible, but we cannot promise that the award will be available before May 1.
