Earning Limit Appeals

If a student earns their work-study allotment and wants to continue working, this is not justification for an increase, per federal regulations. Eligibility for an increased work-study allotment is subject to availably of federal funding and the individual student's remaining federal financial need. Students may contact the Work-Study Office to appeal their eligibility. Each appeal is reviewed on a case by case basis.

If federal money is still available and the student has remaining federal need, a student may receive an increase in their work-study allotment. If all federal money has been awarded or the student is otherwise not eligible for an increase, the student may be hired by their department as a temporary (non-work study) employee.
