Students and their supervisors must submit required hiring forms as indicated in the links below. These documents establish the student's official employment record with Northwestern Human Resources and Northwestern Payroll.
NEW for 2023-24:
- Students who have been offered FWS in their financial aid packages will have their funding automatically updated in myHR to be paid FWS wages during the normal academic year so long as they remain eligible and have not exhausted their FWS allotment during the normal academic year. This applies to both new hires and returning active (i.e. not terminated) employment records.
- The Work-Study Authorization Form is no longer required from on-campus employers.
Off-campus FWS agency employers must contact Trish Schumacher for details when hiring a student to participate in the FWS program at your organization. If a student who worked for you in the previous year will be returning for the 2023-24 academic year, please contact Trish Schumacher.
For FWS students employed at Off-campus FWS agency employers:
- Choose Central Administration, 1002 Financial Aid EV, when starting the electronic I-9 Form.
- Email your Personal Data Form to the Work-Study Office, attention Trish Schumacher.
On-campus employers may review their hiring requirement obligations here. Note, all OnBase form completion or troubleshooting inquires should be directed to askHR. Expect up to a 10-business day processing timeframe before the employment record is created. Additional information is available on the Human Resources website.
Off-campus supervisors are unable to submit the items listed in the link above. Please contact Trish Schumacher for details when hiring a student to participate in the FWS program at your organization.
