Prospective students: apply for aid

Who Receives Aid?

Scholarship aid awarded by Northwestern is need-based, so students must demonstrate financial need in order to be considered. Federal and state grants include citizenship and residency components, as well as need analysis. Domestic students may consider federal loans to help finance their education, whereas international and domestic students may apply for private loans. All financial aid awarded include requirements relating to satisfactory academic progress, enrollment status, and maximum timeframe.

Types of Aid for International Students

International students are eligible for certain academic and institutional scholarships and grants, outside scholarships, and student employment, along with access to a limited need-based assistance program.
