Request Additional Terms of Aid

University aid is available only for four years of undergraduate enrollment. If you will need aid beyond four years, you may complete the below application to request additional quarter(s) of aid.

Students should apply for additional terms of aid one year before the term for which they are requesting the extended aid. In general, these applications should be completed in spring quarter of the third year or the fall quarter of the fourth year. Late applications may be submitted for unexpected or other special circumstances.

Policy

Students may request additional terms of aid if they need to stay enrolled beyond spring of their senior year in order to complete the requirements of their first degree.

Appeals may not be considered for the following cases:
  • Completing a second major
  • Completing a minor
  • Pursuing graduate-level coursework
  • Enrolling in an optional study abroad or field study program

Process

First, students should meet with their academic advisors to request a degree plan that outlines the future enrollment needed for completing the degree requirements. Students in the McCormick School of Engineering will also need to request their most recent degree audit.

Following this meeting, students should complete the application on this page, submitting the degree plan created by their academic advisor and any other supporting documentation related to this request.

Our office will review the degree audit, degree plan, and request for additional terms of aid, and we will connect with academic advisors if more information is needed. We will notify students of the decision within four weeks.
