Available Winter 2018. 2 positions available

Opportunity to work with a nationally renowned university press that publishes 70+ books per year in areas including philosophy, literary criticism, and African American studies, as well as fiction, poetry, play scripts, and Chicago history. Students will gain valuable, wide-ranging work experience in the book publishing industry. Under the supervision of the NU Press sales and marketing staff, responsibilities may: include preparing review lists for forthcoming books, researching potential publicity outlets, researching and submitting books for awards, organizing for conferences and special events, designing flyers, database management, social media content generation, and other administrative tasks as assigned. 


Must be an NU undergraduate student with a Federal Work-Study allotment for the 2017-18 academic year.

Detail-oriented, independent worker. Excellent writing and organizational skills required; proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; previous experience with graphic design considered a plus but not required, can be learned on the job. Demonstrated interest in publishing; humanities or social science major preferred. 

PAY RATE: $10.00/hr
