JOB DESCRIPTION:
This role provides support to the Office of Global Marketing and Communications’ media relations team. Responsibilities include writing stories about the Northwestern community for Northwestern Now, posting content online, writing social media text, completing simple photojournalism assignments, maintaining media contact lists, transcribing interviews and sleuthing for journalists’ contact info, and tracking and analyzing media mentions. This position is for the spring quarter with the possibility of extension. Past work-study students have worked their whole Northwestern undergraduate careers in our office.
Hours requested: 5-10 hours per week
Position is hybrid. One shift per week in the office is required.
QUALIFICATIONS & PREREQUISITES:
Must be a Northwestern undergraduate student with a Federal Work Study allotment for the 2022-23 academic year; Seeking someone with excellent verbal and written communication skills, a demonstrated interest in media (a communications or journalism major is preferred), and a willingness to learn database management.

All Federal Work-Study positions are subject to an annual evaluation conducted by the supervisor to be kept on file in the Federal Work-Study Office.
