Center for Awareness, Response and Education (CARE): Student Service Aide

Available Fall 2017. One position available.

Flexible 10 hours per week during normal business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm. The Center for Awareness, Response and Education (CARE) is a unit of Counseling and Psychological Services. CARE is a confidential space for students impacted by sexual violence, relationship violence or stalking, including friends and partners of survivors.

The Director of CARE will supervise the CARE student worker.  The student worker will provide general support to the CARE office and the peer education groups, SHAPE and MARS. Common assignments include drafting or providing feedback on language for materials, disseminating marketing materials around campus, assisting with training or tabling preparations, and working on relevant literature reviews. Assignments related to peer education groups will vary based on the successful candidate’s membership. 


Must be an NU undergraduate student with a Federal Work-Study allotment for the 2017-18 academic year.

Preference given to students who are members of SHAPE or MARS. To succeed in this office, you need to be a self-starter, hard-working, friendly, detail-oriented, and someone who enjoys helping students and having contact with a wide variety of people. You must be responsible, reliable, able to maintain confidentiality, and have excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills. Good typing skills and familiarity with PC software is required. An interest and passion for sexual health and sexual violence prevention is important. CARE Student Service Aides must be respectful of our confidential space and able to stay organized in a busy office with many moving parts.
