Evanston Community Foundation: Office Associate

DEPARTMENT: Evanston Community Foundation

Available Winter 2020

Our office associates are responsible for a wide range of projects in support of the Foundation’s mission. We are seeking candidates who can work effectively with limited supervision and who are flexible, resourceful, and attentive to detail. This role includes administrative, analytical, research, and database management duties for someone interested in learning more about the nonprofit sector. The Foundation’s work environment is positive and energetic, and the position will provide access to all areas of Foundation operations including grants management, fundraising and donor development, our leadership programs, and board relations. We have recently migrated to a new grant application and management platform and are seeking individuals who are interested in learning more about grantmaking processes and systems capabilities.

The Evanston Community Foundation is a resource for the community, supporting nonprofits with grants and workshops and engaging the community to address current challenges. ECF develops current and long term funding to ensure grantmaking, programs, and convening around community issues will continue well into the future. We are proud to have been a secondary beneficiary of NU’s Dance Marathon for the past 21 years. With support from NUDM and other grantmaking partners, the Foundation has awarded more than $7 million in competitive and strategic grants to over 200 organizations, addressing a broad range of immediate needs and long-term strategies. Visit our website at www.evanstonforever.org to learn more. Our office is located in downtown Evanston, at the corner of Grove and Sherman.

We are seeking a commitment of 6 - 10 hours/week, beginning in September, with the opportunity to work through the entire academic year.  For students who are interested, we are able to offer continuing employment as a summer intern for up to 35 hours/week during the summer of 2020. Our summer projects will involve supporting staff as we complete our transition to a new CRM and finance system.
